Sacred Sound Sessions
Sacred Sound Sessions can be done individually or as a group.
A Sacred Sound Session is a combination of live acoustic music, sound vibrations and inspirational song which cleanses and revitalizes our energy anatomy. With specific sounds, we clear away stagnancy and call in vitality. Many instruments; including rattles, bells, shells, rain-stick, medicine drum, tongue drum and monochord combine to create a uniquely inspired sound scape in the present moment. Voice, in the form of over-toning, chant, spirit song and light language, take you on an ambient journey within your being. The invitations is to rest and observe while harmonious vibrations and frequencies cleanse the aura to align you with your spiritual nature. Sound is the creative force of the universe, which can bring us back to a sense of wholeness within.

Sacred Sound Sessions
Monochord Music
A monochord is a multi-stringed instrument, whose strings are all tuned to the same frequency. By playing the strings at specific points, higher frequency harmonic overtones are created which realign the body to health giving cosmic forces. I mostly use the Aum tuning for the monochord. The Aum resonates with the frequency of the orbital path of the earth around the sun, which lasts a year and creates the changing of the seasons. When this frequency is raised 32 octaves higher, we arrive at the Aum tone (136.10 HZ) .This frequency brings serenity and is calming and soothing for the heart and nervous system.
Singing Bowl
The gentle ‘bell like’ sounds of a singing bowl help the mind and body to relax. Gentle vibrations are created when the bowl is struck or circled with a mallet. These sounds and vibrations have a positive influence on the brain waves and auric field. As the rest and digest response is activated, breathing and mood improves and the natural state of well being is restored.
Medicine Dum
Shamanic Drums are used to induce a natural state of trance. The medicine drum I use is made from reindeer skin and has a singing, resonate quality of sound. Reindeer, as a spirit animal symbolises wisdom, creativity, art, music , magic and journeys. If the drum is played by hand it reflects the feminine qualities of gentleness and journeys within; if the drum is played with a mallet it is activates the more masculine qualities of energy and potency.
Shakers
Shakers have been used by indigenous cultures for aeons. They create a rhythmic backdrop for healing mind and body. When used with intent, shakers, rattles, bells, feathers and plant beaters can dislodge stuck and stagnant energy in our auras and in the environment. Each shaker has its unique personality and sound signature. When we use these instruments, we do so with sensitivity and care, gently clearing away the effects of emotional debris and bringing clarity in its place, like a newly swept floor. Sacred herbs like White Sage and Mphepu help us connect with the beings of light and the ancestors who support us. Burning the dried plant sap of Frankincence, Myrrh, Dragons Blood and Copal can be burnt to revitalise our auras with their smokes medicinal and anti inflammatory properties.
Ukulele
While a Ukulele looks like a small guitar, it is easier to play and is a wonderful companion for those of us wishing to sing along with campfire songs and express ourselves in song. It’s the most inexpensive therapist ever. I had the amazing experience of playing one Ukulele with standard tuning (A440 Hz) and then swapping to a second Ukulele that was tuned to the solfeggi tuning (A432Hz). While playing the standard tuned Uke, I was aware of the sound of traffic and the buzz of the city, when I switched to the Uke with the whole tone Solfeggi tuning, suddenly my awareness shifted to the nature, the sky and the river near by. This experience silenced the mental wondering of which tuning was ‘better’ , for me it was chalk and cheese and I have used the 432 tuning ever since.
Tongue Drum
Tongue drums are gorgeous instruments for people who may feel they ‘don’t have a musical bone in their body’, I have never heard a tongue drum played ‘badly.’ They develop a capacity for rhythm and enhance ones listening skills while plying. This tongue drum was made by welding two gas bottle bottoms together and skilfully cutting various length grooves to form the ‘tongues’ , which are gently struck to produce a melodious harmonious sound similar to a Hang Drum. The sounds are deeply soothing and uplifting, creating a joyful fairy-like melody .
Rainstick
Rain-sticks are made to mimic the sound of rain and falling water. They are equally soothing and enlivening for the body and allow a feeling of freshness and delight. rainstick can be used in conjunction with visualisation to cleanse the chakras and give us a deeper connection with our body. I like to imagine a quality that I desire, like ‘joy’ or ‘fulfilment’ and imagine these qualities pouring into me while the rainstick makes its melodious sounds of water trickles and showers. My rain-sticks are hand-made by hollowing our dried bamboo and drilling many holes which are then plugged with tooth picks. The tube is then filled with a good amounting variety of seeds, shells and beads and the ends are then plugged to create the stick.
Voice
During a sound journey I use my voice to create various soundscapes and lullabies for the soul. I consciously connect with the vowel tones, the planetary spheres and angels to bring healing for the organs of our bodies. I do overtone singing, where more than one note is produced simultaneously. This can deeply penetrate into the body and break up stagnant energy that otherwise could lead to ill health. I connect with my stellar origins and channel Light Language. This helps us to move beyond the mind and into sensing our true celestial nature as infinite beings. I connect with my heart of hearts create Spirit Songs based on the energy of the moment to bless us and the earth as well as all the people we know collectively.

When people come together to hum, sing, connect, heal, cleanse, intend, move and co- create with sacred sound, we build a powerful, potent sphere of energy which we can share with the earth and all her kingdoms. We ground with earth, flow with water, move with air, send warmth with our heart light and bless and rejoice with ‘All That Is’ with our celebration and delight in life and living. I host Sacred Sound Sessions, for individuals and groups in Greyton and am happy to co create retreats or home/baby blessings as requested.
